Robin Wilson has been the principle of the independent sports design consultancy Robin Wilson Consulting since 2003. It has a close association with Judith Wilson Consulting, an established and successful consultancy providing innovative tailor made packages to schools, Local Authorities and Health Authorities. The two consultancies operate with a shared ethos and support / research capabilities.
Robin is an Architect with over 30 years experience, he has been involved in many ground breaking developments; the Community Sports Facilities on school site in the early 1970's; the 'Client Guide to Achieving Design Quality' published by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) and Sport England; and as the strategic Architect for the £120m network for the English Institute of Sport (EIS) involving new training and performance facilities for all the key sports.
With extensive experience in both pre- application advice and assessments of a wide range of Lottery funded projects, Robin is particularly committed to the provision of evidence based, high quality briefing, design and procurement advice at the early part of new projects to help ensure success. The working association and his wider network provides an excellent platform for further multi-disciplinary working and to develop his particular interest in maximising the cross sector benefits of sport and leisure.
Robin was a member of the original TUS team that wrote the Handbook of Sport and Recreational Building Design and subsequent sports guidance documents. From 2007 he has been an author/contributor to the Sport England Design Consortium and has helped to deliver publications that include:

New and refurbished sports hall at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
